A selector and DJ at heart, Reveries resident Her Nice Too travels back in time to a place of deep personal changes. “Simple Guy, Big Town” is a coming of age story narrated through angular clubbing pastiches, impossible to categorize by genre that pick into intimate memories of testing, yet warm times.

Clear points of reference throughout the tracks are a continuity of lo-fi aesthetics, ghetto house smacking drums and the old school hip-hop attitude: all main aspects of Her Nice Too identity, both as a DJ and as a producer, who is constantly researching the perfect formula for setting the block party of life.

“Via Regina Elena” leads us through a colorful path of vibrant drums and uplifting synths, counterpointed by strains of distorted bass that give a sense of instability to its almost idyllic impasse.
“Tour Life” on the opposite, moves frantically with skittering drum machines, tensive melodies and unstable bass layers that take us on a journey full of surprises.
“Meet Vasco” is hazy and fast, with long and euphoric build ups that carry a quirky, yet irresistible energy.
“Dream About Daddy” is emotionally draining, but hopeful and ultimately cathartic with its destroyed synth lines and collapsing drums.

This body of work goes places, like a traveller on his own journey and who knows where the roads are taking? Surely Her Nice Too doesn’t get stuck in the past, but clearly knows that to venture towards the future, one must look inwards first and mend to the wounds of the past.
